Five Weeks

Dear Lila,

Today you turned five weeks old! This week you were ever the social butterfly. You helped your Daddy and I celebrate our ten year anniversary (of knowing each other) at a schmancy restaurant. You also met a few of our favorite people --Sedonna & Carl, Kevin & Marie, and Kevin & Courtney. They all think you are the bomb.

You have been spending more time on your tummy, and your neck is getting so strong. Last night you slept for four hours straight! AND you did it twice! In the last day you have been making the cutest smirky face grin that I think could actually be a smile!! You see, I was getting ready, you were sitting in your bouncy seat and I started singing TLC's "No Scrubs" to you (this song will help you when you turn 30 and your Daddy let's you start dating). All of a sudden you had the biggest grin on your face, and I briefly thought that maybe I had imagined it. Today when you woke up from your nap you had the same face again. This grin was different from your usual "Aaahhh, I just farted" grin. I hope that this is the beginning of many beautiful smiles.

I know that you're a baby, and "spit happens," but you have been spitting up more than before. In fact you had a Mt. Vesuvius type episode all over your Daddy. He had just come home from work and was so excited to see you. He fed you, he burped you, you burped and then spit happened. It happened all over his shoulder, down his pant leg, and all over the floor. It was massive. I rushed in to help clean up, and so did Sully (your big dog brother). And boy, did he clean it up. He is quite possibly the grossest dog ever. We tried to yell at him but laughed our butts off instead.

Aw, she's not farting, she's very advanced for her age and is just deliriously happy.

Way to go, Lila...you show Daddy what you think of him not letting you date until you are 30! Spitting up works well. :)

I'm afraid I have to agree with Brett here. Dating isn't going to start with our little girl until 30... although I might take a year off for every martial arts black belt she achieves before then!

p.s. happy 10th!
