A Smattering Of Updates

Whoa-oh, We're Half Way There
We are at the half way point in our pregnancy! To celebrate this huge milestone I have been singing Bon Jovi's Livin' On A Prayer as if it were my own personal anthem.
Chorus:
Whoa, were half way there
Whoa-oh, livin on a prayer
Take my hand and well make it - I swear
Whoa-oh, livin on a prayer

Sorry for geeking out.  Sometimes I just can't help myself.

Ultrasound Update
We had another ultrasound this week. So far, so good. It has been amazing to see our baby grow from the cell stage to a little tadpole to a real baby. This week's ultrasound showed the baby's spine and ribs really clearly. In one of the pictures the baby looked like it was yawning. So cute.

Mr. Rodney Randall Dandle Sullivan AKA Sully
If I could describe Sully as a person, I would have to say that he's a mix between Joe Pesci and George Jefferson. He's a scrappy little guy with a lot of character who will have you pissing yourself laughing within moments of meeting him. He's terribly lovable and wants nothing more than to sleep next to a warm body while getting his butt rubbed.

Sully had his first session with a dog trainer yesterday and things went surprisingly well. YAY! Sully has some really bad habits that we need to break before the baby comes along. One of his favorite past times includes stealing remote controls, shoes, underpants, McDonald's cheeseburger wrappers, and then hiding them under the bed to either build himself a nest or a nuclear reactor. Sully also lovingly greets people by jumping on them and trying to cram his sausage-esque body into their laps while licking their face. Most people don't enjoy this as much as we do. He would also love to murder all people riding bicycles or using skateboards. He gets so stressed out when he spots one of the aforementioned items that he starts grunting and getting into a crouching crawl and then he barks and jumps maniacally at them. We try to avoid these situations as much as possible. And lastly, the worst and most pressing issue--he is difficult to walk on his leash. He pulls on his leash, barks at other dogs (especially chihuahuas) and probably doesn't get enough exercise because of this.

Peter (Sully's trainer) believes that Sully will respond really well to training. We have already seen a slight difference in walking him on the leash. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Glad that Rodney's training went well. Maybe he and Skittle will meet one day and have a tea party. They will both be very civilized before we know it. I picture Sully having the British accent that the apes have at the very end of Space Balls. Is that weird?

Congratulations on being half way there - and I think that Bon Jovi really does provide the perfect theme song for this moment so don't worry about geeking out - we all do it at one time or another :)
Your puppy sounds like he's quite the lovebug and I have faith that he'll learn some great new tricks in time for baby's arrival! I have friends with a doggy named Sully too! It must be a name that stands for super loveable :)
