Boy Or Girl?

We are at the point in our pregnancy where most people find out the sex of their baby. And it's going to be ......drumroll.......

A SURPRISE!!!!!!!

Yup, we're not going to be finding out the gender of our little one. It's exciting and frustrating at the same time. It's really exciting to picture the moment that I will be in the delivery room with M (our surrogate) and find out whether Million Rupee is a boy or girl. I also think that phone calls to our friends and family saying "it's a boy!" Or "it's a girl!" will be that much more special. It can also be really frustrating because everything seems to be geared towards one sex or the other. There aren't as many stylish gender-neutral clothing and bedding options as I had naively led myself to believe. Yesterday we went to Babies-R-Us for another research excursion. We have heard from many people that the Graco Snugride car seat is the safest and best car seat. While looking at it the car seat we asked the sales dude what color options there were other than pink or blue. He showed us this vomit colored alphabet soup-like option. Not my cup of tea...or soup.

*It should be noted somewhere in this post that even if we did want to know our baby's gender (we don't) we couldn't find out. It is illegal to find out the sex of your baby in India.

Wow - you learn something new everyday! I had no idea it was illegal there to find out gender! But that will be a wonderful surprise! Just hope that you can find some things that are something other than vomit colored :)
